I have recently received 'Bowen Therapy Tom Bowen's gift to the world', by Frank Navratil Bsc.N.D. This book does not appear to be available in the U.K., I found it listed on Amazon in the USA. As most Bowen Therapists will know, there are not many books written about the Bowen Technique so it was refreshing and worth making the effort to find this one and ordering it. The Author tells how he learned the technique and subsequently became an instructor, teaching all around the world. The history of the technique is well documented but it is always interesting to read new information and experiences. The book is not intended to be an instructional manual and therefore it is only of real interest to Bowen pratitioners or students. However, it is still an interesting read for anyone wishing to know more about the history and philosophy of the technique. The author takes you on a journey through the origins of the technique, about Tom Bowen, how the technique works and a detailed explanation of the 'Bowen Move' and the basic procedures. There is useful insight into conditions it may help and what to expect from a Bowen treatment. The Bowen Technique is all about giving the body information and allowing it to re-set and re-balance itself. This principle is well explained from the start so the reader has an understanding of the holistic approach of the technique and it's unique healing powers. Concluding with questions and answers and references to case studies, the enthusiasm and knowledge of the author is evident. I would recommend this book to all Bowen practitioners as a good standby reference and source of information. However, anybody wishing to learn the technique should seek qualified instruction from an accredited Bowen Training establishment.

Bowen Technique - Backpain & Sciatica
Bowen Therapy has been shown to help sufferers of Backpain and Sciatica where other modalities have failed. Patients can often be in so much pain that they can hardly stand, so getting onto a couch and being pulled around is out of the question. However, some practitioners let their ego get in the way and try to 'fix it', often causing more pain and making things worse. The Bowen Therapist is able to treat people sitting, standing, lying or even in their bed if necessary. The work can be done through light clothing and does not involve any deep massage, manipulations or any procedures that may cause discomfort. In my many years of experience as a Physiotherapist, Manipulative Therapist and Sports Therapist, I have not found anything as effective for Back Pain as the Bowen Technique. The gentle procedure brings rapid relief for acute and long standing pain and the results are often described as 'miraculous'. I have lost count of how many patients I have seen in agony one week and virtually pain free the next, I would encourage anybody in pain to find a Bowen Practitioner and any Practitioner involved in treating Backpain, to learn the Bowen Technique at a recognised training establishment.
Serrapeptase
I often recommend my patients to take Serrazyme to help with their condition. It is an enzyme that helps break down and dissolve inflammation of any kind, it improves respiratory problems and clears arteries. Thousands of testimonials have been related - I have had great reports from patients with acute / chronic pain, MS, Cardio-vascular problems, Respiratory conditions, Prostate problems and many more. Miracle Pain Relief Update - 2
Results are still encouraging. Patients are returning with much less pain. Instant improvements after session, using basic work only.

Miracle Pain Relief Update - 1
A couple of weeks have passed since I started using the modified upper back moves and I must say that so far, results are encouraging. I have used all BRM 123 moves for all presenting conditions and I believe it works well. Acute LBP has responded well, sitting or lying, and the residual muscular stiffness that sometimes stays, now is not evident. Time will tell.

Miracle Pain Relief Moves
I have been experimenting with the new move sequences from the above DVD, as they seem to make sense to me. I have had good responses so far but will have a better idea in a weeks time. The opening and closing moves on the lumbar and thoracic area are similar to those of moves in Knee and carpal tunnel procedures and therefore would seem more logical than medial / lateral moves of 9-16 BRM 2. We will see.

Miracle Pain Relief?
I have just received a DVD from USA called Miracle Pain Relief. It is a slant on the Three BRMs of the original Bowen Technique. All moves are done with the thumbs, so there is a lot of moving from one side of the couch to the other. There are some differences in the sequence of moves and positions which could make sense. I have always been a great believer in the power of the BRMs and if done well great results may be achieved. An interesting interpretation of Bowen work, well presented and explained, if a little slow.

25th October 06
Nothing too out of the ordinary today. However, Sciatica can sometime be a challenge, but had a good result diving in and doing Deep Sciatic procedure on first visit. My client returned today and all Sciatic pain to leg has gone, leaving dull ache in lower back sacral area only. Since I did Pelvic / sacral last week, I thought I'd use EG this week. The soda crystals are working well on an Arthritic Knee. An interesting thing yesterday, when performing move 2 Pelvic, my client felt the move go straight to his SIJ, so there you go! I have lots of great past experiences and reactions but we will start from now and keep in the present.
